"It's not easy being the Being"

Films: The Being (1983)

Alias: Michael Smith

Type: Mutant

Location: Forest/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: If your town has a nuclear problem, FIX IT! Otherwise you end up with a lot of dead people, killer monsters or not.

History: The town of Pottsville, Idaho had an issue with the copious amounts of nuclear waste being poured into the wilderness. This dump site has now affected an average human, and turned him into a snarling abomination that comes out mainly at night to supplement himself with human flesh. He leaves green goo in his wake every time.

Notable Kills: His fist rips through a man's chest from behind a car.

Final Fate: While being confronted in a warehouse, the Being gets acid to the face before getting hacked up by an axe. However, there are other mutants waiting to rise up now...

Powers/Abilities: Can resist any form of radiation and/or poison.

Weakness: Anything else conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-It's sad really. This horrible thing looks like a shark-toothed bloody cyclops, and yet the prop is so damn stiff in certain shots. Had it not been for that, this creature could have been a true shocker. Still, try to not confront it, if you can.

Trivia: -This film began production in 1980 under the working title, "Easter Sunday".

-This film was also known as "Beauty and the Beast" (yes, really), "Mutant Monster", "The Pottsville Terror", and "The Ultimate Terror".

Too humanoid to be the ultimate terror. Go back and mutate some more.

Even decapitated heads know to retreat.

The world's worst hitchhiker.
When the bombs drop, the cretures of his ilk will laugh.

He's got a winning smile, at least.
